In this session, the faculty will discuss some challenging diagnostic cases that primary care clinicians face. The cases will feature interpretation of abnormal laboratory studies, in addition to encounters with rare diseases and conditions. With increased awareness of certain uncommon but “can’t miss” diagnoses and clinical decision aids that may improve diagnostic accuracy, you will be more equipped to take on challenging diagnostic dilemmas in your practice.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recall diagnostic pearls for “can’t miss” diagnoses
  • Avoid near misses for these diagnoses
  • Recognize which features of the history and physical examination are most useful to make a correct diagnosis
