This lecture will review the current diagnosis of concussion across all mechanisms. In addition to demonstrating evidence-based assessment tools, the faculty will discuss initial management and guidance for return to school/activity. Modifiers that might prolong the natural course of recovery will be reviewed. This lecture will also cover management approach for patients with persistent post-concussion symptoms and provide you with a balanced explanation of the known long-term consequences of concussion and repeated head impacts.

- Apply recently published evidence-based guidelines when managing acute and subacute concussion for pediatric mild traumatic brain injury
