This discussion will focus on the latest CDC guidelines for treatment of sexually transmitted diseases with a specific focus on Chlamydia, Gonorrhea and Herpes Simplex Virus.  The role and rationale for screening and patient assisted partner treatment will be reviewed.  A section of the discussion will describe the natural history of Herpes Simplex Virus, which will give the clinician helpful information when counseling their patients regarding issues surrounding Herpes infections.
